Looking Ahead to 2009
September 30th, 2008
The Cleveland Golf Tour is looking ahead to 2009. The Tour will not operate the final two events in Texas and Tennessee and focus our attention to providing a better product next year. There are many positives surrounding the Tour: the concept of following the Nationwide Tour, the many player discussions about the concept, and the $5,000 Bonus Events in Utah, Idaho and Oregon.
Because of these positives, Cleveland Golf and the Golden State Tour are excited about the 2009 season. The Tour will expand its schedule to a minimum of 10 events. Other bonuses and incentives are in the planning stage and will be announced when they become official.

White Wins in Oregon
September 17th, 2008
Local knowledge does have its advantages. For Jimmy White, it paid off in a big way with a victory at Emerald Valley GC in Creswell, OR, September 15-16. Consistent rounds of 70-70 - 140 (-4) were the difference on the difficult Emerald Valley layout. White, a Creswell resident, held off a late charge from Ryan Gilmour of Corvallis, OR. Gilmour (71-70) birdied the last 3 holes in regulation to finish 1 stroke back at 141 (-3).
Kenny Kim, Luke Swilor, and Joey Benedetti, finished in a tie for 3rd at 141. All three players made late runs to get in contention, but untimely bogeys cost them their chance for victory.
White earned $5,000 for the win as the Tour moves on to Midland, TX, Oct. 5-6.
The remaining 2008 Tour schedule is as follows...
Tue/Wed - Oct 7-8, Ranchland Hills GC, Midland, TX
Tue/Wed - Oct 14-15, Bear Trace at Harrison Bay, Harrison, TN
